No other organization is revolutionizing child-focused systems reform like CCYJ
Founded in 2006, the Center for Children & Youth Justice is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to reforming Washington’s juvenile justice and child welfare systems. No other organization in our state is doing the revolutionary work we do as we lead communities, our state and the nation in creating innovative approaches to real and lasting reforms that will support kids, stabilize families and strengthen communities.
CCYJ’s programs and initiatives identify gaps and cracks, develop well-researched and creative approaches to mending problems, and then ensure that policymakers embed those reforms into practices and procedures. The results of our work are put into state law, adopted as standing protocols by the courts and schools, or developed into new treatments and interventions for at-risk, abused or neglected children and their families.
We nurture fresh ideas and bring people together across political and cultural lines to forge consensus-driven change. Join us by supporting our work today.
The Center’s mission is to advance justice for and enhance the lives of children and youth through juvenile justice, child welfare, and related systems reform.
Through the work of the Center for Children & Youth Justice, more children and youth will be diverted from entering Washington’s juvenile justice system. Those children and youth who are involved in the juvenile justice, child welfare and related systems will max imize their potential to become more successful and productive members of their communities. They will have the support of integrated systems staffed by highly-skilled practitioners, utilizing evidence-based practices, in an environment of fair and unbiased decision making.
